Adventure Outdoors

The Outer Hebrides of Scotland is set to become the next New Zealand for adventure sports and wilderness destinations. These secret islands are a playground for adventure activities; set in one of the most stunningly remote and clean environments in the world. Over 100 islands make up this archipelagos chain, which is strung out along the North West coast of Scotland and there are over 72 deserted white beaches to be discovered.

The Hebrides is formed on one of the oldest exposed rocks in the world, Lewisian Gneiss. The landscape is a stunning contradiction of rocky hills and moorland with coastal machair dunes and meadows, embracing white shell beaches and turquoise waters. With the most consistent surf in Europe, the highest sea cliffs in Britain and some of the most beautiful bays and offshore islands in the world this really is a paradise lost and undiscovered.

Kayaking in the Hebrides © Mike SullivanDespite being a top destination for major international adventure competitions, these islands are still a secret and you will never experience overcrowding here, you are guaranteed to find a beach, hill, wav, loch or crag all to yourself any day of the year. These islands are the heartland of Gaelic culture and you will experience a warm Hebridean welcome wherever you travel, you may even come away with a few words of Gaelic yourself! The wildlife is incredible and water users can share their waves with dolphins, whales and seals while inland on the hills and coast birds such as the Golden Eagle, puffin and guillemot will soar above you.
